About the Instructor
I am finishing up my first year in my clinical psychology Ph.D. program at Southern Methodist University. I graduated this past year from Stanford University with honors; I earned a B.A. in Psychology and Asian American Studies. I joined Victory Step because I want to share the knowledge I have with others. Growing up, I didn’t have access to tutoring and had to figure out standardized testing and the college admissions process on my own. Throughout college, I taught psychology courses and tutored others in oral communication, the ACT, and college admissions. One of the main ideas I hope to instill when teaching or tutoring is about growth mindset; our intelligence is not fixed—through hard work and dedication, we can learn and accomplish more than we ever thought possible. I love working with students who are striving to improve and be their best selves. Outside of academia, I spend most of my free time reading, playing the ukulele, and cooking Vietnamese food.
